Tips for my pioneering students...

If you're interested in writing a response to the article "A View from Mount Ritter," you may refer to a few suggestions provided by the textbook. For example, you can check the three propositions on page 26. A sample writing entitled "Student Paragraph 3" can also be found on page 28 and 29. Check them out and see how people try to link their life to their visceral experience with the Mother Nature. Also, if you have already completed exercise 1.10-1.13, use your knowledge about sentence combing to compose your work. Remeber, many of our classmates might be desperate to read your story! So share with us now.

Welcome Students!

Welcome students!

This website is to help you develop your English reading and writing ability. Just as an old saying runs, practice makes perfect. The more you read and write, the better your command of English will be. I encourage everyone to read and write about topics they feel passionate about, and this website is a great venue for you to get started. Here are some basics you should know before you start your English learning endeavor:

By the end of the class (due on week 17), you’ll need to

1. Post your summaries (200 words or up) and responses (agree/disagree; interpretive/reflective; analytic/evaluative) (300 words or up) on the articles we discuss in class (at least 4 out of 5).

2. Read your classmates’ work and provide at least four responses/feedback(200 words or up) to four different classmates.

3. You're also welcome to share new experiences, thoughts, and reflections about life on this website.

Be sure to publish your posts (summaries, responses and feedbacks) before the week 17. You will lose 15% of your total grade if you do not fulfill these requirements. If you have any question, feel free to contact me by email (hyang.course@gmail.com).

I hope you have fun learning, exploring and growing!! Don't wait till the last minute. Start blogging now !!
